Beginner fit is an editorial reading, not a lab score. Bolt starts from a prompt in the browser and publishes a site on the free plan. Token limits and the Forge preview dates are the parts a beginner can miss.

Bolt.new is a browser app builder priced in tokens. Free includes 1 million tokens a month with a 300,000 token daily cap. Pro starts at $25 a month for 10 million tokens.

Quick verdict

Bolt.new builds and hosts a site from a prompt. The free plan is $0 with a 300,000 token daily limit and 1 million tokens a month, plus Bolt branding. Pro starts at $25 a month for 10 million tokens, with no daily token limit on that plan. Teams is $30 per member a month. Those figures are from Bolt's pricing page on 15 October 2026, not a lab run.

Who it's for

Pros

Published product traits. Not lab findings.

  • The free plan includes website hosting and public and private projects, according to the pricing page.
  • Pro at the entry tier removes Bolt branding, adds custom domains, and starts at 10 million tokens a month with no daily token limit.
  • Paid subscription tokens roll over for one extra month, so they last up to two months, according to the pricing FAQ. An active paid subscription is required to use them.

Cons

Published limits and pricing constraints. Not lab findings.

  • Free shows Bolt branding, caps uploads at 10 MB, and does not include custom domains. The billing help says a Supabase database requires Pro or Teams.
  • A token is not a fixed amount of work. Bolt says most token use is syncing the project files to the model, so a larger project costs more per message.
  • Bolt Forge dates disagree across Bolt's own pages. The help center ends the Pro preview on 14 October 2026. The pricing page still said Forge was included until 18 October when this page was checked.

Test log

No hands-on run is recorded. The lab protocol on the methodology page (a CRUD app, a seeded bug, a refactor, and a Vercel deploy) has not been executed for this page. There is no time, success rate, cost, screenshot, or score to show.

What it is

Bolt's pricing page calls it an AI website and app builder. You start in the browser. The free plan lists website hosting. Paid plans are the ones that list a custom domain and the removal of Bolt branding.

The billing help says you can save 10% by paying annually. It does not print a single annual dollar total for the $25 tier on the page this summary used, so this page does not invent one. Higher token tiers exist. The billing help tells you to pick a monthly token amount, and the price changes with that amount. This table keeps the $25 entry tier that the pricing page shows.

Forge, and the date conflict

Bolt Forge is a third agent that runs on open-source models. The help center says the research preview ran from 14 September 2026 to 14 October 2026, that Pro users lose Forge after 14 October, and that prompts sent through Forge are de-identified and shared with partners for training. Sessions from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are excluded from that training use.

The pricing page checked the next day still printed "Bolt Forge included until Oct 18" on the $25 plan. Both sentences are Bolt's. This page does not pick a winner between them.

What this page does not claim

There is no timed build, no token total from a lab project, and no ranking against Lovable. The comparison page lines up the published plans only.

Questions

Can I still sign up for Bolt Lite at $9?

Not as a new signup, according to the Forge help center checked on 15 October 2026. It says 14 October 2026 was the last day to join Lite. Existing Lite subscriptions renew at $9 a month and stay on Forge.

Does Pro still include Bolt Forge?

The sources disagree on the end date. The help center says Forge access on Pro ends on 14 October 2026. The pricing page, read on 15 October 2026, still said Forge was included until 18 October. Check both pages before you count on Forge.

Did vibestacklab build an app in Bolt?

No. This page is a research summary of Bolt's public pricing and help pages. There is no hands-on result.
