Guide
How much does vibe coding cost?
Stay at $0 on a browser plan until the cap, or pay one entry plan from $8 to $30 a month. Extra model use can be a second bill. Checked 3 November 2026.
Answer
There is no single monthly price. A first app can stay at $0 on Bolt or Lovable until the free cap. The first paid plans checked on 3 November 2026 are Bolt Pro and Lovable Pro at $25 a month, Cursor Plus at $8 a month for Grok models only, and Claude Pro at $20 a month if you want Claude Code. A second product, such as a database or extra model use, is another bill.
The short version
Vibe coding is a way of working: you describe the app, an agent edits files, you look, and you ask for the next change. The bill is whichever product you opened. Checked on 3 November 2026, the honest range for a beginner who uses one product is $0 until a free cap, then one entry plan. This guide does not add those plans into a stack total. A stack total would pretend you need all of them. You do not.
vibestacklab has not metered a real app in these tools. The numbers below are list prices and published caps, copied from the vendor pages linked in each section. If a figure is missing, that page did not print it in a way this guide is willing to repeat.
$0, if you stay in one free browser plan
Bolt's pricing page lists Free at $0 a month, no card, with 1 million tokens a month and a 300,000 token daily limit. Branding stays. Custom domains are not included. Details are in Bolt free tier limits.
Lovable's pricing page says starting to build is free. The plan docs give Free 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits and 4 AI credits a month. Code download is not on Free. Details are in Is Lovable free?.
Either door can be a first afternoon at $0. The cost shows up when you hit the cap, want the badge gone, want a domain, or want the code on your own computer. Those are the paid rows, not a surprise fee hidden in the free plan.
Cursor's pricing page also lists Free at $0, with limited agent requests and limited chat requests. That is a real $0 tier. It is a weaker place to start if you have never opened a project folder, because Cursor is an editor. The free row does not say the limits in a number of requests, so this guide does not invent a count.
Claude's pricing page lists Free at $0 as well, and the comparison marks Claude Code as No on Free. A free Claude chat is not the same thing as Claude Code. If the thing you want is the coding agent, Free is $0 and it does not include that product.
The first paid plan, one tool at a time
These are entry list prices from the pages above. Taxes are extra where the vendor says so. Cursor and Claude both say the prices shown do not include applicable tax.
Bolt Pro is $25 a month, billed monthly, starting at 10 million tokens, with no daily token limit and rollover included. The pricing page has a yearly toggle that says save up to 28 percent. This guide does not print the yearly dollar price, because that toggle is where Bolt tells you to read it.
Lovable Pro at 100 credits is $25 a month, or $250 for the year, which the docs show as $21 a month. That pool is shared by the workspace. Members are unlimited. The $25 does not buy the same unit Bolt's $25 buys.
Cursor Plus is $8 a month and Grok-only. Premium is $30 a month, and third-party models on that plan are billed separately. What is Cursor? has the higher tiers.
Claude Pro is $20 a month, or $17 a month when $200 is billed annually, and it includes Claude Code. Max is $100 a month, with 5 times Pro usage every 5 hours and every week. Ultra is $200 a month, with 10 times Pro usage every week and no five-hour limit for verified accounts. The pricing page checked on 3 November 2026 does not list Max 5x or Max 20x. Claude Code for beginners has Team and the API-key warning. Leave an API key unset unless you mean to open that second meter.
A beginner who wants one bill should pick one of these and ignore the others. A browser plan at $0 or $25 is the usual first bill. An editor or terminal plan is the bill when you already have a folder of code.
Where a second bill comes from
The subscription is not always the whole cost.
Cursor's pricing note says third-party model usage is not included in the monthly prices and must be purchased separately. Plus never gets those models. Premium and above can call them at API list price. If you only want the price on the card, do not turn that meter on.
Claude Code on Pro shares Claude's usage limits. An API key can bill the Console instead. Bolt tokens and Lovable credits also move with the size of the work, and a $25 plan can run out. This guide does not quote a top-up as if it were required.
A database or a second host is another product. This guide does not repeat those prices. The databases category and the Vercel tool page cite their own sources. Bolt Free already includes a bolt.host URL.
A simple way to decide
Write three lines on a note.
- The tool you will open tomorrow.
- The free cap, in that tool's unit, from the page linked above.
- The first paid price, and whether a second meter exists (Cursor third-party models, or a Claude API key).
If line 3 is a range rather than one number, you do not have a monthly cost yet. You have a subscription plus an open meter. Close the meter or budget for it on purpose.
What is vibe coding? is the workflow, not the bill. The comparisons put two tools on one page when you are stuck between doors. None of them is a lab receipt.
Checked on 3 November 2026. Re-open the vendor page before you subscribe. The cards change, and a yearly discount this guide did not see on the toggle is not a number to budget.

Questions
What is a normal monthly budget?
This site does not have one. The entry paid prices below are the vendor list prices checked on 3 November 2026. They are not a measurement of what a finished app costs in tokens or credits.
Can I vibe code for $0?
Bolt and Lovable both publish a free way to start. Bolt Free is $0 with token caps. Lovable's pricing page says starting to build is free, with a daily credit cap. Claude Code is not included on Claude Free.
Why do two tools both say $25 and buy different things?
Bolt Pro at $25 a month starts at 10 million tokens. Lovable Pro at $25 a month is 100 workspace credits. The vendors define the units differently. This guide does not convert one into the other.
