Privacy policy
This page describes what vibestacklab actually does with information. It is written in plain English. It is not legal advice.
vibestacklab is owned by DevDudeJeremy LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company. An AI agent writes and maintains most of the site under the supervision of DevDudeJeremy LLC, which is responsible for the site and for this policy. AI-written pages can contain errors; tell us at hello@vibestacklab.com and we will fix them. Mailing address: DevDudeJeremy LLC, 150 Highland Sq Dr #1008, Hendersonville, NC 28792, USA. Email: hello@vibestacklab.com.
What we collect
You can read the site without an account. We do not ask for a name, a password, or a card number.
If you type an email into a signup form, we send that address to Kit (also called ConvertKit). Kit stores it so we can send the Tuesday email. Kit may send its own confirmation message. This site does not send mail itself.
Some forms add a label to that address:
- The stack quiz can tag you beginner or experienced, and can store those words in a Kit field named Experience. If the quiz has a short list of tools, that list is stored in a Kit field named Recommended stack. A middle answer ("I can code a bit") does not add an experience tag.
- The stack-guide checklist form tags you lead-magnet-stack-guide. That tag is how we know you asked for the checklist. The checklist then opens on the page. We do not email the checklist as a separate file.
- A successful signup on the Tuesday newsletter form is tagged VibeStackLab Newsletter. That label marks the address as a newsletter subscriber.
Each form has a hidden website field. It is a spam trap. If it is filled in, we drop the signup and do not store it.
The light and dark switch saves your choice in this browser under the name vibe-theme. That stays on your device. We do not receive it.
If you choose Decline for Impact under Privacy choices, that is saved in this browser under the name vibe-impact-consent. We do not receive that value. A stored Accept does not override Global Privacy Control or the regional block described below.
If you email hello@vibestacklab.com, we have that message so we can reply.
Why we collect it
- To send the free Tuesday note, and to stop sending it when you unsubscribe.
- To remember a quiz result or a checklist request you asked us to save.
- To see which pages are opened and whether they load, without tying that to your email.
- To count affiliate clicks. The live labeled affiliate link is Bolt, through Cello. A Lovable affiliate link through Impact is pending and not live.
Who else receives it
We do not sell or rent your email address or the newsletter list. Kit stores it for us as our service provider (processor) and uses it only to deliver our email.
- Kit (kit.com) holds the email address, the tags, and the two custom fields above. Kit sends the confirmation and the Tuesday email, and Kit provides the unsubscribe link. Kit acts as our processor/service provider under its own terms and privacy policy (kit.com/privacy). Kit may store data in the United States.
- Vercel hosts the site. We load Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights on every page. They measure page views and how fast a page loads. They are not connected to your email.
- Impact (impact.com) runs affiliate tracking. We include a script from utt.impactcdn.com. It can set cookies or similar identifiers and send Impact your visit and click details (such as IP address, browser, page, and time) so a purchase can be credited to us. A Lovable affiliate link through Impact is pending and not live. We do not load this script at all for visitors in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, based on the country Vercel detects for the request. Everyone else gets the script when the page loads, unless they have chosen Decline under Privacy choices in the footer or the browser sends Global Privacy Control (navigator.globalPrivacyControl or the Sec-GPC header). We honor that signal by never loading the script. If Vercel sends no country, we treat the visit like one outside the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. The live labeled affiliate link today is Bolt, through Cello (bolt.cello.so).
- Cello receives the click when you use the Bolt Visit site button. That address is on bolt.cello.so. Cello and Bolt then have their own policies.
A normal link off this site, such as a vendor page or the X profile, is just a link. We do not embed X. Those sites only see you if you go there.
Vercel may keep ordinary hosting logs, such as an IP address, the browser, and the time of a request, to run and protect the site. We do not add our own log of newsletter addresses.
Cookies and tracking
The theme choice is local storage, not a cookie. Our own pages do not set a login cookie. There is no account. A Decline for Impact is also local storage (vibe-impact-consent), not a cookie.
We set a functional cookie named vibe-geo. Its value is consent when Vercel's x-vercel-ip-country header is an EEA country, the UK (GB), or Switzerland (CH), and open otherwise, including when that header is missing. It only tells the page whether Impact may load. It does not store Accept or Decline. It lasts about a day and is refreshed on the next visit.
If the request includes the Sec-GPC header, we set a functional cookie named vibe-gpc so the page can see that signal next to navigator.globalPrivacyControl. That cookie lasts about a day. We clear it when a later request does not send the header.
Impact's script can set cookies and similar identifiers so it can recognize a visit or a click that came from vibestacklab. These cookies are not needed to read the site. We do not load the script for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Elsewhere you can block it with browser settings or a content blocker, or choose Decline under Privacy choices. The pages still work, but affiliate attribution may not. A browser sending Global Privacy Control never loads the script, including outside the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. If the script already loaded on the current page, Decline applies on the next page.
Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights do not use cookies. Vercel identifies visits with a short-lived hash of the request that it discards after 24 hours, and reports only aggregate page views and performance figures to us.
Unsubscribe and deletion
Every Tuesday email includes an unsubscribe link from Kit. One click stops the mail. You can also email hello@vibestacklab.com and ask to be removed.
To delete the address, the tags, and the quiz fields, email that same address and say you want the Kit record deleted. We will ask Kit to remove it. There is no account page on this site for that request.
To drop the theme choice or the Impact choice, clear this site's data in your browser, or use Privacy choices to reset the Impact choice.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address, tags, and quiz fields in Kit until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Unsubscribed addresses may be kept on a suppression list so we never email them again. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to answer and then for up to two years. Vercel and Impact keep their own logs under their policies.
Children under 13
vibestacklab is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect an email from a child under 13. If you believe we have one, email hello@vibestacklab.com and we will delete it. If you are under 16 and in the EEA or UK, please do not sign up.
CAN-SPAM
The Tuesday note is a commercial email from DevDudeJeremy LLC. Every issue includes our postal address, DevDudeJeremy LLC, 150 Highland Sq Dr #1008, Hendersonville, NC 28792, and a one-click unsubscribe link. We process unsubscribes promptly, well within the 10 business days the law allows, and do not email an address that has unsubscribed.
Your privacy choices (California, EEA, UK)
If you are in California, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you can email hello@vibestacklab.com and ask:
- What we hold about you. In practice that is the email, the tags, and any quiz text stored in Kit.
- For a correction, if a tag or the recommended-stack text is wrong.
- For deletion.
- To stop the email. Unsubscribe does that.
We do not sell or rent your email address. Affiliate tracking by Impact and Cello may count as "sharing" or a "sale" under some state privacy laws, because those companies receive identifiers about your visit or click and we may earn a commission. To opt out, email hello@vibestacklab.com with the subject "Do not sell or share", block third-party cookies, or use a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor by not loading affiliate tracking scripts.
Legal bases (EEA/UK): newsletter email, quiz tags, and fields rely on your consent, which you can withdraw by unsubscribing. Site hosting and security logs rely on our legitimate interest in running the site. We do not load affiliate tracking cookies for visitors in the EEA or UK.
You may ask for access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction, and you may object. You may complain to your local data protection authority. Your data is processed in the United States by our providers (Kit, Vercel, Impact, Cello) under their standard contractual clauses or similar safeguards. We answer within 30 days (45 where California law allows).
The terms and the affiliate disclosure sit next to this page. Questions go to hello@vibestacklab.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; for a material change we will note it in the Tuesday email.
