SWE-2 self-serve promo ends

Cognition's Devin Desktop models doc says SWE-2 is free for self-serve plans through 15 October 2026. After that date the same doc lists $3.00 per 1M input tokens, $15.00 per 1M output tokens, and $0.30 per 1M cache input tokens. The Devin pricing page, read on 15 October 2026, says SWE-2 is free in Devin Desktop and the CLI through 16 October 2026 and does not restate those token prices. Enterprise ACU plans use a different table on the models doc.

Who it's for. People on Devin Desktop or the Devin CLI self-serve plans who use SWE-2 and need the date the free window closes.

Windsurf name is retired

On 15 October 2026, windsurf.com redirected to the Devin Desktop page. That page says Devin Desktop is the new name for Windsurf and that the IDE remains, with a download still offered. The @windsurf account on X displays as Windsurf (retired) and says the product formerly known as Windsurf is now Devin Desktop, a product by Cognition. The pricing page lists Free at $0, Pro at $20 a month, Max at $200 a month, and Teams at $80 a month plus $40 a month per full dev seat. The self-serve doc still describes Teams as an $80 a month minimum, with a $40 full seat that includes Devin Desktop and a $0 flex seat that does not.

Who it's for. Anyone still searching for Windsurf, and anyone comparing it with Cursor under the old name.

Bolt Forge preview dates disagree

Bolt's Forge help center says the research preview ran through 14 October 2026, that Pro users lose Forge after that day, and that 14 October was the last day to join the $9 Bolt Lite plan. Existing Lite subscriptions keep $9 a month. The pricing page, read on 15 October 2026, still said Bolt Forge was included until Oct 18 on the $25 plan. Both sentences are Bolt's.

Who it's for. Bolt Pro and Bolt Lite users who need to know whether Forge is still in the plan.

Bolt adds a model training setting

Who it's for. Anyone with a Bolt account who wants to choose whether projects and chats are used for model training.

Windsurf becomes Devin Desktop

The Devin Desktop FAQ and Cognition's 2 June 2026 post say Windsurf became Devin Desktop that day via an over-the-air update.
