Does every app need a database?
No. A page that only shows information can be a static site. Add a database when you need to save users, posts, or orders. The picking-a-database guide walks through that choice.
Why is Firebase not the database page?
Core Firebase products are still sold, and this site has not written a Firestore pricing page. Firebase Studio, the AI workspace, is sunsetting and is filed under app builders.
