Is Lovable free in 2026?
Lovable's pricing page says starting to build is free. This guide lists the free grants and the limits, including no code download, checked on 3 November 2026.
Answer
Yes. Lovable's pricing page says starting to build is free, and the plan docs describe a Free plan. Free includes 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits and 4 AI credits a month. It does not include code editing, code download, or a custom domain. Checked on 3 November 2026.
The short version
People ask this because a lot of free AI builders stop being free the moment the page looks real. Lovable still publishes a Free plan. The pricing page says starting to build is free. The subscription plan docs compare Free with Pro, Business, and Enterprise. Checked on 3 November 2026.
This is a reading of those two pages. vibestacklab has not built an app in Lovable, so this guide does not tell you how many credits a login screen burns. The Lovable tool page keeps the longer price table. Links to Lovable on this site are plain links. There is no Lovable affiliate link.
What the free plan includes
The pricing FAQ answers what is included in free and paid plans. It says the free plan includes a daily grant of 5 build credits, up to 30 a month, plus monthly grants of 20 Cloud credits. It also grants 4 credits usable by AI features built into user apps, so you can try that feature before you subscribe.
The plan docs say the same daily build number in a table: 5 a day, 30 a month on Free. They also list a monthly Cloud grant of 20 credits and a monthly AI grant of 4 credits. A daily chat allowance is included. The docs say chat usage has its own pricing, including a per-message price and a daily allowance, and that the allowance resets every day at 00:00 UTC and does not roll over. They do not print a message count on the page this guide used, so this guide does not invent one.
Free also includes unlimited workspace members, workspace-private projects, and Git sync for GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket. You can create custom connectors. Publishing to invited people is limited to 10 people per project.
The docs give a concrete example of the monthly cap. After you hit it, Lovable stops granting the daily 5 credits until the 1st of the next month at 00:00 UTC. On Free, that means daily build credits for the first 6 days (6 times 5 is 30), then none until the next month. Plan the first afternoon inside those 6 days. Do not assume day 7 still has build credits.
What free does not include
The building table is the part that surprises people. On Free, edit code, download code, custom domains, and removing the Edit with Lovable badge are marked absent. Those show up on Pro and above.
So the free plan is a way to try a build inside Lovable. It is not a way to take the repository with you. If owning the files on day one matters, read that row before you spend the 30 credits. The Bolt free limits guide is the other browser door, and Bolt's free plan is a token cap rather than a credit cap. They are not the same kind of free.
The pricing page also says credits are not necessarily equal in value across plans, and that the rate depends on the plan and the feature. Do not convert Lovable credits into Bolt tokens, or into dollars of model use. Nobody on these pages published that conversion.
What the first paid plan changes
Pro starts at 100 credits a month. The plan docs list that tier at $25 a month, or $250 a year, which they show as $21 a month. Higher tiers go up to 10,000 credits on the same page. Business at 100 credits is $50 a month, or $500 a year.
Pro is where the docs turn on code editing, code download, custom domains, and removing the badge. Daily build credits on Pro and Business are 5 a day with no monthly cap in the docs table. The pricing FAQ adds a caution: some regional plans cap those daily grants at 30 a month. This guide does not guess which regions. Check the page while you are logged in if you are about to rely on the uncapped daily grant.
The pricing FAQ says workspaces support unlimited members on all plans, and plans are priced by credits, not by seats. Inviting someone does not change the subscription. It changes how fast the shared pool runs out.
A way to use the free plan without wasting it
- Read the two source pages and write the 30-credit cap on a note.
- Describe one page. A tip jar, a birthday note, a list you can see in one screen. No login and no database.
- Ask for one change after the first result. A color or a sentence. A second huge prompt spends the cap faster, and this site has not measured how fast.
- If you need the code on your computer, stop. That feature is on Pro, not Free.
- If several people will share one workspace, remember the credits are shared. Unlimited members is not unlimited building.
The longer walkthrough for a first page is your first app with AI. The side-by-side with v0 is Lovable vs v0. The side-by-side with Bolt is Bolt vs Lovable. Neither comparison is a tested winner.
If you need the repository, a custom domain, or a coding agent in a folder you already have, Free is the wrong door. Cursor for beginners and Claude Code for beginners are those other doors. Checked on 3 November 2026. Re-read the two source pages before you pay.

The pricing page says starting to build on Lovable is free, and the docs name a Free plan. This guide does not print a dollar amount the pricing FAQ did not print. Checked on 3 November 2026.
